From the security sector in training elite helicopter pilots to a research and development campus providing remote training for space helicopters, Heli Czech is ready to provide all the necessary assistance to helicopter pilots.

The origins of cooperation between the Czech Republic and the United States of America for elite helicopter pilot training began with Brigade General Bohuslav Dvorak (ret) of the Czech Air Force. General Dvorak was the chief of the Kabul International Airport with the ISAF Mission in Afghanistan from 2006-2010.

During this time period he provided his United States Air Force colleagues a training program based in the Czech Republic. This training program was a huge success, under the instruction of Heli Czech for almost 4 years, as they trained 300 Afghan helicopter pilots.

The base facility is operating in the Czech Republic. Expansion in the Research & Development includes plans for a campus facility in the United States for the purpose of providing training for remote helicopter pilots and similar operators, to include Space Helicopters and small drone operators.

HELI CZECH is one of the leading flight schools for the provision of training on helicopters. The team of instructors has many years of civilian and military experience in demanding flying as well as in international missions. We provide from basic training to professional courses, as well as internationally. Over the past three years, we have flown more than 15 000 flight hours in training courses, 1 330 of these hours in six weeks. EXCLUSIVELY in our flight school, every student which enrolled in any course has the opportunity to fly with AH-1S COBRA attack helicopter.

PPL (H) – The first step for helicopter flying


The first step in getting started with a helicopter is to acquire a PPL-H Private Pilot Qualification. This license entitles pilots to use a helicopter for their own needs, and is non-commercial.

If you start flying from scratch, you need to have at least 45 hours of flight time + 1.5 hours with the examiner during the examination. If you have flown in the past, you can count up to 10% of the total flight time, but 6 flying hours max. With practical flying on the helicopter, you can start almost immediately after the basic instruction.

The 100 hourly lessons consists of teaching with a lecturer, and part is self-study. The course prepares you perfectly for tests carried out on the ÚCL. Since the theoretical and practical courses can be performed at the same time, there is a better understanding of the topics discussed. Ultimately, this means time and money savings.
You will take the final practical exam after passing the theoretical tests on the ÚCL and completing the prescribed practical training.

Modular Course CPL(H) – for pilots with a PPL(H) qualification

Obtaining a CPL (H) allows you to conduct flights for payment, as a professional pilot.
Minimum Age: 18 years (at the end of the course)

Education: Minimum basic

Requirements for previous experience:

1) The student must hold a valid PPL (H)

2) The student must hold a valid General Radiotelephony certificate

3) Must have flown:

a) 155 hours of flight time as a helicopter pilot, including 50 hours as a PIC, of which 10 hours must be cross-country flights, or

b) 105 hours of flight time as a helicopter pilot if a CPL (A) is held, including 50 hours as a PIC, of which 10 hours must be cross-country flights, or

c) 135 hours of flight time as a helicopter pilot, if a PPL (A) is held, including 50 hours as a PIC, of which 10 hours must be cross-country flights.

Health requirements: The student must hold a valid certificate of medical fitness I. Class according to Part-MED

Language requirements: The student must have sufficient knowledge of the Czech or English language

Theoretical instruction: For the commencement of practical training, it is necessary to complete the theoretical instruction CPL (H)/ATPL (H) in an approved ATO. The student must provide a certificate of completion of the theoretical course CPL (H)/ATPL (H) before starting the course.

Integrated course CPL(H) – from the very beginning to obtaining a professional license


Minimum age: 18 years (at the end of the course)

Education: Complete secondary school education with graduation. If the training applicant is not the holder of a school-leaving examination, he/she must undergo a test to verify that he/she has sufficient knowledge of mathematics, physics and English.

Health requirements: The student must hold a valid medical mertificate I. Class according to Part-MED

Language requirements: The student must have sufficient knowledge of the Czech or English language

The student must have completed all the learning phases within one continuous training course, organised by an approved training organisation. The student must hold a valid General Radiophonist certificate.

ADVANCED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES – expanding skills in critical situations


The course is designed for holders of PPL(H) qualification or higher who hold at least one of the following type ratings: R22, R44, R66, MD 500, BELL 206B

The subject of the training is:

- autorotation at altitude + advanced area maneuvers – the exercise is aimed at using all the maneuvering options that the helicopter allows from 0 to the maximum speed, including ART from hovering at altitude

- full landing in autorotation – the goal is to master the piloting technique for landing without an engine

- full landing in autorotation to a marked and limited space – after mastering the piloting technique we will focus on accuracy

- autorotation into a limited space – when there is no suitable area at hand

- landing with blocked pedal control

- landing with the tail rotor off in flight and hovering

NIGHT Qualification


Minimum age: 17 Years

Education: Minimum basic qualification

Requirement: A licence holder applying for a helicopter night-flying qualification must have completed at least 100 hours of flight time as a helicopter pilot since the issuance of a PPL (H), comprising at least 60 hours as a PIC on helicopters and 20 hours of cross-country flights

Pilot license: PPL (H)

Health requirements: The student must hold a valid medical certificate of at least II. Classes according to Part-MED Language requirements: The student must have sufficient knowledge of the Czech or English language Theoretical instruction: For the commencement of practical training, it is necessary to undergo ground preparation within the range of 5 hours Course length: Course must be completed within 6 months

TYPE RATING


For helicopters: Robinson R-22/R-44/R66, MD500, BELL 206B, BELL 505, AW-119, AH-1 COBRA

Course duration: 2-3 days

After an 8-hour theoretical preparation focused on the construction and systems of the helicopter, you will proceed to the practical 5-hour training to obtain a type rating with an instructor. Since the PART-FCL requirements do not include separate flights, we have an approved syllabus for all helicopter types in the range of 5 flight hours with an instructor + a one-hour examination by the examiner. Practical training also includes 6 hours of ground preparation.

FI(H) – Flight Instructor


Minimum Age: 18 Years

Education: Minimum basic

Requirements for previous experience:

1) The student must have a theoretical exam for CPL (H) at UCL

2) The student must have flown at least 250 hours of flight time in the helicopter, of which:
a) at least 100 hours shall be as pilot-in-command if the holder is an ATPL (H) or a CPL (H), b) or 200 hours as pilot-in-command if a PPL (H) is held, c) completed at least 10 hours of instrument flight training in an ATO or TRTO helicopter, of which not more than 5 hours can be on the FSTD, d) completed at least 20 hours of navigation flights in the helicopter as a pilot-in-command; e) must hold a licence and a current type and/or IR qualification for which they provide training, f) shall have at least 15 hours of practice as a pilot on the type of helicopter for which they provide training, of which a maximum of seven hours may be on the FSTD, and g) pass a special entry test with qualified FI (H) in accordance with Part FCL, based on a proficiency check, during the six months preceding the beginning of the course. This flight test shall assess the applicant's eligibility to participate in this course.

Theoretical instruction (teaching and self-education): For the commencement of practical training it is necessary to undergo theoretical instruction in the range of 125 hours, from the following subjects:

SIMULATOR


Simulator of a type focusing on the Robinson R22/R44 helicopter, which has a "motion" or movable cab system. This type of simulator is the very first piece of its kind. It is certified by FAA. It is situated for two people with dual controls, the same design as in a real helicopter.

It is possible to practise beginner flying up to instrument flying in the worst weather conditions that could ever attack you. Storms, gusts of wind, rain, low visibility, frost, snow and much more. Of course, you can choose any place of take-off on the entire territory of Europe and the time at which you want to fly, i.e., even night flights are not a problem. Pilots can also practice ground and flight procedures specifically for this type of helicopter.
